No Really.

I'm 27. I live with my boyfriend in a largish city in the midwest. I'm a therapist. I work with kids with severe behavioral issues.

I thought maybe I’d hit my next goal of 35 or less today, but my right shin was hating on me like only a shin caught between an overpronating ankle and an incomplete pcl can. I’m icing it now and limiting myself to the eliptical at least until the weekend.

I walked more of it than usual, but my running AND walking speeds are increasing. Not too long ago, a comfy run was 4.5 miles/hour and a walk was 3.5. Now I’m running about 5.5 (dropping down to 5 for a little bit of a break) and walking 4. By comfy run I mean not my fastest pace, but one I can maintain for a decent distance (a mile+) without feeling like I’m dying.

I think I should be doing a 30 minute 5k or better (with NO walking) by the time it’s nice enough to run outside. I know I’m gonna be a little slower running on the sidewalks than on the nice perfectly flat treadmill. :)

Also, when I first got back into running (January), it was all I could do to run 2k. (1.25 miles) In fact, I don’t even think I could run it straight. Now it’s no big deal.
